PixScape Webring and Directory
I made a webring and directory for pixel artists called PixScape. Consider visiting!
Site Links
Note that the warnings about animations is mainly for my own benefit (and others with motion sensitivity) since people update their websites occasionally I wanted to forewarn myself before visiting again if there is a lot of motion on a page.
Auzzie Jay's site is one of the first I saw on Neocities. I like it because of the vegan and web manifestos and the Digimon theme of the website. Warning: Animated content.
Sadgrl has a dithered pixel style design website, with a lot of resources for webmastery including HTML and CSS guides, a layout builder, and links to tiled backgrounds and free fonts.
Dee Lightyears creates PC-98 style pixel art and retro 3D graphics that you might see on the Playstation. Their homepage is a banner wall with links to unique pages related to anime, retro gaming, and retro anime sites. They have a starter guide for creating 3D graphics.
Nico is a freelance pixel artist with a cyber gothic aesthetic and a special focus on 1-bit art. She also runs a store called transi.store including prints, apparel, accessories, and homeware.
barry runs Pale Hand Games which has a minimalist 1-bit horror aesthetic. Uncanny, body horror, or Lovecraftian horror are popular themes and the overal look is very similar to the game World of Horror on Steam.
Cinni's web design changes occasionally but features pixel graphics and tiny cute animated images. She hosts pixel toy boxes and dolls and has links to kaomoji, fonts, and web graphics (gif collections). Warning: No pause on animations.
Themby has their own pixel art including small Pokemon graphics, a Star Trek ship, and tea. They also have pages with a toybox, along with a collection of blinkies, stamps, and badges.
Platinum Tulip has a beautiful dark rose themed site with pages to share their artwork including a non binary OC dhampir Diana, and a special page on Castlevania and the character Alucard (also my favorite character!). Their website is very easy on the eyes.
Ashe is a freelance character designer based in Los Angeles who has made a lot of Castlevania fanart. Her art shop raises money for The Trevor Project focused on LGBT+ advocacy and suicide prevention.
Cybergrunge is a single human effort to create a web gallery of unique and unusual artwork that broadly fits into a cyber-grunge aesthetic. The attitude is summed up by static web banners like Good taste is the enemy of creativity.
Pleurodelinae has a 18th century aesthetic with an whimsical atmosphere and maximalist backgrounds. The web owner hosts their art gallery which has a flat illustration style with kaleidoscopic colours and compositions.
Andou has a bright and pop screen-tone cartoon style of artwork. They have shrines for Digimon, FFXIV, and their pet cats. Warning: Animated content and backgrounds. Low contrast text.
Although Mirage Island has shut down, the web design is nostalgic of Pokemon fan sites from early 2000 which is why I've kept it here. My favorite page is the Headcanons by Game Freak Staff.
Noseclub is another Pokemon fansite with a special focus on the overlooked Nosepass. My favorite pages include the Paint Tool SAI Guide: Sugimori's Watercolour Style (Gen One) due to my own artistic curiosity and Why I Love Nosepass which is very heart warming and reminds me of the personal connections we make with our favorite Pokemon.
A fan site for the Pokemon Mew. Lots of starry backgrounds, sparkles, and animated gifs of Mew. The animations are thankfully minimal. I personally like their collection of mew toys and Mew shrines. Warning: Animations cannot be turned off.
From the same web creator as Cybergrunge, Robopon is a fansite for a Pokemon knock-off game series called Robopon (roughly translates to "useless robots"). The web design is full of pixel graphics from the game and is a lot of fun to read about even if you've never played it.
Vert Push has a unique web aesthetic which is a bit like a maximalist cyber y2k style with furry mascots. They create animated illustrations. They have links to web building resources and host custom CSS animation code. Warning: Animated content and backgrounds.
RGB Teahouse has an anime themed site with an art gallery of their retro-style anime graphics that is reminescent of playstation graphics and game manuals. Warning: Some animations on the main page and some pages load asynchronously.
Hawaii 1999 is a cute graphics site with a nostalgic aesthetic to me. Kawaii anime graphics everywhere. They have a Pokemon shrine with their favorite Pokemon. Warning: Gif animations cannot be paused. Low contrast text. Animated backgrounds.
Spirit Cellar has a late 1990s themed site with an animated star background. Their library page is designed like an actual bookshelf with animations for the books sliding out. Warning: Animated content and backgrounds.
Natalie has a Windows 95 theme on her site. She has a shrine for the accordian, a micro blog, and a web manifesto. I like the web aesthetic and the site is mostly static.
Mystsaphyr's web design aesthetic is from early 2000 anime sites. It includes their artwork, web design projects, vocalsynth music, and pages about their interests in vocalsynth. I also really ilke their Adoptables page full of pixel dragons and Eevee evolution style animals.
Oaaky's World has web design inspired by the Earthbound and Undertale series of games. Their page mascots are cool non-binary alien-esque characters that look like Earthbound enemies (in the best way). They're a chiptune musician and illustrator with a lot of original characters.
Midi Archive has a 2000s anime theme and is a repository of anime midi music files. To those unfamiliar with the format, midi is an extremely lightweight music format limited to 4 channels of instruments.
Kaisernet is dedicated to retro anime downloadables such as desktop accessories, clocks, and screen savers (such as for Lucky Star or Digi Charat). They also host some old game manuals for Doom and packaging for retro anime like Galaxy Fräulein Yuna.
The site owner Kristen hosts a personal blog on a cyber aquatic themed website (lots of bioluminescent jellyfish). They have a shrine for Pacific North West Orcas and they host a Toy Box of animated gifs.
Divergent Rays has a blog and a Cocktail Lounge (sharing cocktail recipes), sharing their cross stich hobby, small pixel art they've made for pixel clubs, and some recipes.
